Making good progress on the 2nd chapter.

Howdy folks,

Things are going slow but surely on my end. I finished the cover page to the second chapter last night. It came out so well that I decided to make a few adjustments and make it into a full page flyer. I need to go and get some color ink and gloss paper so I can print up some to distribute around.

I've been tinkering with the dark side of the story this week. I filled in some details for the bad guys and how they mean to accomplish their goal. I had a general idea of what they were doing, but I needed an anchor character, one that can focus all their efforts, so that was fun to come up with.

I've roughed sketched up to page 26, the first 6 of these have already been inked and I am working on colors and letters for the first couple pages of those this week. I still need to tweak the panels and dialog, but those are details that almost always get done during the final pages, usually at the very last moment.

I got a little impatient last night and changed my forum avatar using the first panel from page 31. This is probably my very favorite panel in the entire first chapter. I think it will spark some interest in the next page. Things for the next few strips are more serious as Jolly learns the fate of the Dwarves that marched against the wizard all those years ago. I noticed that my less humorous pages receive less comments which is ok, but I do like hearing from people reading my stuff.

I'm tying hard not to let that influence how I draw and write the comic, this is still a project that I want to do for myself first and foremost. That being said, it is a pretty nice feeling when other people genuinely enjoy the story  I am doing too. I find I dread disappointing anyone. The positive of this is that its forcing me to maintain my schedule. The negative is that I have to push back the urge to do something that I think other people would find cool, regardless of the needs of the story.

Looking forward to game night tomorrow night. I know there are times when I think I would rather stay home and work on the comic, but once the game starts, I am all in and for the next few hours there is no other place I would rather be.

Other than that, not a heck of a whole lot else going on.

The weekend is almost here, I hope everyone has a fine time and I will see you next update!
