This is not a rafting trip I would want to take!

Certainly we've not seen the last of the Headless.

If you're browsing around any of the comic sites he is on, give the dwarf a friendly vote =)

Thanks =)

But, there might yet be a bloodbath. Just not the kind where everyone gets killed. Maybe.

What happens when someone falls into the blood?
Draginbeard 10th Nov 2014, 6:47 AM edit delete reply
Draginbeard
Nothing more than if you fell into a regular river. The Blood rivers in Fairie don't have any lasting unusual effect, good or bad if you fall in.

Blood is a little thicker, which makes it harder to swim in. Wearing armor will make you sink like a stone, just as you would expect.

The blood river also seems like an excellent breeding ground for giant sized mosquitoes.

Oh man, that would be pretty damn horrifying to see coming at you!

Hehe.."a floaty spell". Love his terminology.

Jolly can be a little language lazy in his own charming sort of way.

A free axe that can probably double as a paddle when you're up the creek.

And if something reaches out for you from the deep, you can chop it down to size as you paddle!

Tenser would be proud. Shame about that sword, though!

Yeah, it was a nice sword. Jolly never did find out if it had any enchantments to it (and it did).

Headless Horseman: I throw my battle axe!
GM: What, you have a feat for that?
Headless Horseman: No, I use my fighter range weapon skill...
GM: Okaay, let's see how that works out... BTW, your opponent thanks you for providing that nice weapon, moving on...

To be fair, the Headless was just trying to AXE the dwarf a question, but without a head, he can't really get into the conversation very easily.

or something.

So many cool things with this page.
"Can't magic the dwarf? I'll magic *around* the drawf!"
I imagine a more hostile caster having that idea... "Hmm I can't turn you to stone, but what if I transmuted the air in your lungs into stone? Hyurk hyurk hyurk!"

Also wondering if the spear pixies are a worldbuilding detail or Jolly's next torment!
Draginbeard 11th Nov 2014, 4:38 PM edit delete reply
Draginbeard
That would be vicious, and frighteningly effective spell!

The pixies are watching their side (the Seelie side) of the river.

A long while back, Jollys people rebelled against the Elf Queen. Even though they left Fairie of their own accord, the Queen has declared them exiled, never to return on pain of death.

As we already saw, the Unseelie are just as hostile, so Jolly can't set foot on the other shore without getting attacked either.

These guys are literally caught on a bloody river, between bad and worse.

This is why Jolly didn't want to take the Unseelie path.
