I had no idea how to do this page. Even in my head I had about 3 different versions of what I wanted.

Thus, I mostly used the 'force' to layout the page. And I paid proper homage for that inspiration. (the bubble in the upper right is pretty much what you think it is)

The middle panel coloring actually took me most by surprise. It just sort of felt like the way to go. So I went with it.

Thank god this isn't a paid gig, or I would have gotten fired for sure by now!

Good news and bad news.

The good news -- Jolly is nearly home! In fact, if all goes well, he should make it by the end of the month (2 pages away).

The bad news -- I will be going on a much needed break about then. This will mark three years of production, and 2 and a half years of putting it up here for all to see.

The other news -- while I'm resting up and recharging my batteries, I will also be working on other semi-comic related projects.

I will announce those at the end of the month, as I get my ducks lined up in a row.

Just to be clear, I am not done with Jolly. This is a planned break, and I will be back around spring with a brand new chapter of Jolly shenanigans.

I just need a little time to get other things worked out.

If you're browsing around any of the comic sites he is on, give the dwarf a friendly vote =)

I hear you, nothing wrong with taking a break, especially for an unpaid gig. Interested to see what your other projects are, and looking forward to Jolly's return.

My side projects are small, and mostly geared to help me do better with my art and writing. I'll keep you guys posted.

What did you have in mind for art improvement stuff? Or is it secret.

Not a secret, but I'm looking to load up manga Studio 5 and do some fan art for folks. Keeps me drawing, gets me familiar with the program, and I get to show some appreciation for you comic makers.

I'm still working out the fan art stuff.

Where's the teapot mouse?
I'm very interested to hear about the "other semi-comic related projects" too.

The mouse is hanging on to Tinker in the first couple panels, and I think I drew her too small, but you'll see her better next page.

I like all these cool areas you are taking us through in the land that Jolly lives in. It makes for a very interesting adventure indeed!
Also, I never would have ever realized the bubble was the Death Star unless you had pointed it out. It was totally subconscious.

Scarlan is a home grown D&D campaign world Ive been working on for a good 25 years. Its changed alot in that time, but as you can imagine, its full of wild and crazy areas and creatures!

How fast does time go?! Great work as always ;-)

Thanks =)

I haven't really thought too much about having a traditional time difference for Fairie. I'm of the mind that since these two worlds bump up pretty close together, there isn't much in the way of a time distortion.

That may change after a while since most of the paths between the two have been blocked or severed. Without those paths, they may start to drift apart. But that's something to keep in mind for another story, I think.
