Howdy all,

Some of you may have noticed that I posted a little later today than usual. I decided to go ahead and start posting at 7am PST from here on out. This gives me a chance to make any last minute changes, or even a little bit longer if Im having troubles with production.

Things I toyed with this time around. Im deciding if I want to use hand drawn word bubbles, or go with the tool for it in manga studio.

I cant draw even a slightly perfect word bubble, which is a vote for the tool set, but I like the organic feel of the hand drawn ones. They fit the art better.

Right now I cant decide. Do you guys favor one over the other?

First panel is the last of the flashback scene, and there is mention of something important going on there.

Still playing with the colors a little, but Im going to go with light shading instead of the intense soft shading technique I was using before.

I messed around with cell shading, but I was never a big fan of it for my stuff.

Thanks again for checking in, and I hope everyone has a great week!

Thanks =)

Last page was all Tool generated word bubbles, this page was done by hand (except for the tails).

While it looks sloppier, Im kinda liking the hand drawn ones more. The fit the art a little better, I think.

Don't notice too much of a difference between the two, I'd say go with whatever makes for ease of production. New colors are lookin good!

Thanks. Light shading should save me some time and still give me a look I like.

And yeah, I think Im going to go with the hand drawn word bubbles. I can still resize as needed, it takes a little less time, and they fit the art better.

Sadly, Jolly is likely in for many of these moments.

I like the muted, less intense colors, and the 3D shading looks great in my opinion.
I think everything is improving.
I definitely like the hand drawn word bubbles and completely agree that they are more organic and fuse with the overall look of your art.
Panel two really stands out for me. I like it when you spend extra time on your backgrounds. Backgrounds are absolutely essential for creating the mood and setting.
Keep up the great work!
