Hello everyone!

First off, this one goes out to Wendy for her birthday. Happy Birthday Wendy!

So, I found some paint brushes in Manga Studio that I had not really played with before now...and so I played with them.

I felt like a monkey in a pilots seat, not really knowing what Im doing, but pushing buttons anyway.

Actually, and for the most part, I'm pretty happy with what I managed. I don't know that it will become a regular thing since it took me a few hours longer to finish the page, but did enjoy myself.

Maricopa Game Con is this weekend, and I'm really looking forward to rolling dice til I drop.

Not too much else going on right at the moment. I hope everyone else has a great week!

To be honest with you, Manga Studio was too complex for me, plus, I did not like the way it's pen stroke stabilizer worked. I ended up liking Sai's line stabilizer much better and it's simplicity.
In regards to the story...darn those dragons! Jolly needs to take them out! But how? Maybe he and the other dwarves could build a giant battle golem to take them on, but it would have to be fire proof. Anyway, it will be interesting to see when, if, and how Jolly and company ever does get revenge on the dragons for their legacy of pain and carnage.

Honestly, I became pretty frustrated during my hiatus as I started using MS. I even walked away from it more than twice. But Im getting the hang of it more and more.

I do have some small grievances with resizing, losing layer information when I try to save a page in a file type that's not MS, and the lack of text features for lettering sound effects. (you cant warp and stretch letters to make a fancy looking explosive sound).

But there are a lot of features I really do like, and an lot more Ive yet to discover, and make proper use of, when I do find them.

As for Jolly wanting revenge against dragons; thats going to be pretty high on his list. But as youve mentioned, a dragon is no easy enemy. And there are a LOT of dragons to get revenge on in this world.

Nottie is not very friendly, even before she had reason to hate Jolly. Her 'condition' doesn't help matters.

Takes a long time to get used to a new program but it will be worth it, another 'tool' for your repertoire.
I had actually forgotten about Nottie's ability to "Grr Arrggh"

Its taking longer than I expected, but Im getting there bit by bit.

Nottie and Rege are going to be uneasy allies even on good days. Being curse were-beasts is only going to add more darkness to a strained relationship.

Jolly's Da, Stonearm wasn't there when the dragons attacked so a good chance we might find him. ;)

Hope is still alive that his Da might be among the ones that made it out.

Stonearm was leading Jolly, Nok and the rest of the Big Beards in an attack on Spiral Tower, trying to prevent the Dark Mage from turning on his machine, so none of them knew anything about the attack on their home.

Nottie (Noks sister) was actually there in the mountain when the Dragons attacked. If she is willing, Jolly might find out what she knows about the survivors.

I love the body language here, especially in the silhouette. The shoulders are more slumped, the axe held lower...good detail. The entire page is nice, but I like the subtleties.

You never were really vague about Nottie being back in the story someday. No surprise there but I'm interested to see what is coming!

Thanks =)

Nottie and Rege have large roles to play in this story. There are other characters coming as well, some sooner than others.

Faerie dragon is going to try to convince her? Wonder how... What's a werewolf's saving throw vs. charm?

That is the task before him, trying to get her to at least come and talk to Jolly.

Charm, spell or natural is not going to get Ms. Stubborn to budge. Maybe reason will do the trick.
