Under the mountain, in a shrine unseen, an ancient artifact reads a cosmic newspaper.

Things lighten up a little. We are past the introduction, and the tone for the back story is set.

Now I'm looking to get a good mix of drama/humor into the story. There is still a lot of action coming, Scarlan is a really mean world at times. Stick around and see what kind of trouble Jolly is in for!

Yup, finally brought color into the strip full time. This was my second real attempt at coloring.

One of the greatest things about CF is being able to see people develop their skill over time. I look forward to seeing how you and your story evolve. So far so good - keep it up. :)

NOOO! Another B&W artist sells out for color! :D But seriously, looks quite cool. I love the cave wall textures, particularly.

Sorry, had to go with color. As much as I love working in black and white, Ive always pictured this strip in color. =)

Texture, thats something I want to play with some more. The paint brush tools in photoshop are pretty great, especially for black and white work, and texture is a big deal.

I'm still learning to color (which sounds like I failed pre-school), mixing color and texture is something I need to work at still.

Coloring is kind of a huge time eater, so I need to find a balance to keep productivity where I need it.

This is probably my best joke, and I had to steal it form the Joker of all people =P

These are early colors, I wanted to do the whole dynamic lighting process, but...it doesn't fit the comic, so I went with a more, um, coloring book effect. It gets better around page 30, I found a really smooth color palette I like.
