Originally, the comic was based on Jolly and his adventures inside the internet. Specifically with sites like Youtube, Facebook, and every online game Ive ever played.

The concept involved Jolly going from game to game, page to page trying to get back home.

I had some inspiration from movies like Tron, Matrix, and Hackers. Then I started seeing more and more webcomics doing this very thing, and I decided to try something else.

I wanted to keep the 'Ghost in the Machine' theme, but instead of doing the whole comic inside the internet world, I sent him back home. This leaves me the option for virtual flash backs (Highlander style), and opens up all kinds of new stories I could explore.

I found that I liked the idea of him returning home to a world that had gone though major, MAJOR changes. And so, armed with 10 years of alien pop culture references, Jolly would try to find his way through to the life he once knew.

But as fate would have it, things are never that straightforward.

Hell yes, Highlander style.
Panel 3 rules!

I love the Original Highlander movie. The way they phased into the flashbacks was great!

Panel three was tough to draw because I couldn't stop laughing at what I was doing to poor Jolly. This was the only draft that survived my laughing fits trying to describe how one gets their life sucked away by the internet!

I know there isn't a whole lot left I can think of to be original about, but damnit, I'm gonna try anyway!

There is plenty of action, bad jokes, and drama ahead!

I really wish I could up my page work to 3 updates a week. Must move to a planet with more hours in the day...

The big window with symbols was the user interface of the game, right? Cause I find that really funny XD

Lets just say that when I was drawing this, I was thinking "Dwarf falls into the internet, how does he get around? Oh! There's and APP for that! SWEET!"
Hythlodeus 17th Sep 2012, 1:54 PM edit delete reply
Is that app available for Android, cause I totally want that!

Also: congrats! Your comic gets better every week and you started on a very high level.

Thanks! I'm still learning as I go but man this is FUN! (and a lot of work lol)

Well with the release of the 5th iPhone, and it seems that Apple already has an App for everything else, why not one for snarky Dwarves trapped between the pages?

But... does that mean his own universe is part of the Internet???

That would be terrifying!
What if our world is somebody else's 4chan?

I suspect that everything is connected. You just need to know where to look!

I imagined at the time, it must have felt like he was licking a light socket and having sparks shoot out his ears!
