Peeps really brought down the house, and the little cave has a new moon roof!

This page gave me all kinds of grief, finally had to call it 'close enough' and get it into the buffer.

In other news...I hit 50 subscribers as of last week. Holy Fishsticks! Thanks for the support everyone, it means all kinds of everything to me!!!

And if you're browsing around any of the comic sites he is on, give the dwarf a friendly vote =)

Oh it sure is! Sadly, Peeps should have seen this coming. He had plenty of eyes for it!

nicely done.. as ive said before I really love the improvements you have been doing :D Love his refernces too :D

Thanks, still trying to keep improving, but I think Im hitting a little bit of a plateau here.

I'm going to try baby steps in different directions to see if I can break some of my limits.

Yeah, lots of opportunity for even more cultural reference humor as we go.

Sadly, most of the people Jolly will come across wont have the slightest idea what he is talking about.

Its the inside joke, taken to the farthest reach.

I think knowing when to 'call it done' is a good habbit to get into, and doing a webcomic really pushes you to do that, I'm finding with mine at least. Keep in mind most of the time the problems -you- have with the page your audience probably wont even notice

Yeah, I give myself a good week to try and get it right.

One of these days, I will be able to reproduce exactly what I see in my head.

I'm not there yet, but half the fun is in the trying.

I am giving this everything I got!

This page came out awesome man! Us artist have the curse of seeing the "dream" or the "perfect page" in our minds, and usually not seeing it reality, but no one else has your vision to compare it too, and I can tell you this page is top-notch quality!!! :D
Draginbeard 16th Sep 2013, 12:48 PM edit delete reply
Thanks Looey!

Most days I am content that no one else can see what kinds of things I envision...

There would be much screaming, and running, and jell-O, and talking cats...

It would be a madhouse... a MADHOUSE!!!!

That's why I like ink: you can't do more touching-up when the page is full!

Well technically you could, but it's a hard to miss cue!

I wish I could stop myself...but art is like an open bag of m&m's, all the candies must be lined up in perfect order, all colors separated and grouped together, or I'm not happy!
Dodom 16th Sep 2013, 5:06 PM edit delete reply
Do you keep a special category for the malformed m&m's, or do you eat them immediately to skip the problem?
Draginbeard 16th Sep 2013, 10:58 PM edit delete reply
Yes, the misshapenly shaped m&m's are dealt with last, as often they harbor the most chocolatey goodness and therefore are highly treasured!

Awesome work! The colouring is great. It might just be my tablet but the website layout might need tuning?
Draginbeard 16th Sep 2013, 11:06 PM edit delete reply
Thanks =D Glad you came by to check it out!

And no, its not your tablet, Im in the last phase of page tweaking, and right now things are a little off. But I have high hopes this will get sorted in short order, please bear with me while this gets worked out!

I like the way the colors pop out at you. It is nicely blended, but not overly blended to the point where there doesn't appear to be any light sources...good job doing that correctly, A lot of people can't seem to pull it off.

Thanks Doug =)

I have to be honest here, I struggle with coloring quite a bit. I have only the barest understanding of it all works.

For the most part lm going by instinct and personal taste. I put clarity over technical accuracy, in hopes that I will get it right more often than l get it wrong.

I am finding little insights as l go, which eased some of my earlier frustration. But I know I have quite a bit to learn still. Hell, I dont think Ive ever enjoyed being this frustrated by anything else.

Im glad you like the results =D
